15th International Ex Libris - Ex Cinema Competition

In 2019, 416 participants from 38 countries (Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Malaysia, Japan, China, India, Argentina, etc.) submitted 613 works. For the first time, a representative of Kenya has joined the international exlibris contest for Ruse Library. Doyen among the participants was Arpad Shalamon from Slovenia, a Hungarian native born in 1930 who has participated in the competition from 2007 until now. The youngest participant in the forum was Ada Inci Akyuz from Turkey and is 8 years old. Among the participants were the winners of the Grand Prix of the competition in the past years: Takao Sano from Japan, Snezana Kezele from Serbia, Eleonora Gershanovych from Germany.

A jury of: Bozhidar Yonov, Ivan Tokadzhiev and Vlado Goreski (North Macedonia) selected the works and awarded the Grand Prix. In 2019, the award was awarded to Torill Elizabeth Larsen of Norway. As every year,Lyuben Karavelov Regional Library gives its prize to one of the participants. This year it was awarded to Denitsa Ivanova-Alexandrova from Bulgaria, who has participated in the competition since 2013. Several more artists have received sponsorship awards. These are: Mert Serkan Benek from Turkey - Award of PROMONT Ltd., Maria Baranczyk from Poland - ZONTA CLUB - RUSE Award, Agnieszka Lipska from Poland - RUSE INFO Award, Andrea Girardi from Italy - KRIB RUSE Award from Mexico - Award of the BCP SME-RUSE and Brut Carniollus from Slovenia Award of the RUSSIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. In the category under 18, 115 participants - students from Bulgaria, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Hungary, Turkey, Serbia, Montenegro, Hong Kong, Armenia - sent their works. The award, given by the Rotary Club, was given to Alexandra Serko from Belarus. Two more participants were honored. These are the graduates of the Plovdiv High School of Mathematics High School "Acad. Kiril Popov"- Teodor Tenev - Award of the Regional Library "Lyuben Karavelov" and Valentin Benov - Award from BORDERLINE motor's pub.
